Ortho has a product with bifenthrin in it called Bug*b*Gon MAX. You put it down with a spreader and a bag will do 10,000 sq ft.

First treat your pets with Advantage, which you can get from your vet. Fleas do not live unless they can suck blood and your lawn does not provide this. As a former licensed commercial pesticide applicator I can tell you that pesticides are highly toxic. You stand a great chance of poisoning your pets by treating your lawn with chemicals. You will kill many beneficial insects in the process. You will also kill birds, as the insects they eat are treated with the poison. Think of the bees, pesticides are highly toxic to bees. I assume you do not want any butterflies living either, because they will also be killed off. Snakes, frogs, and toads will also be killed (these are the very things that eat insects). Also there is drift when you spray, so if your neighbor gets sick from it, or their pet does...think law suit. The best thing is to keep your law mowed, apply some granulated lime, and investigate biological controls. You can find many alternatives to pesticides on the Internet. One out of every 4 people have cancer. Please think twice before using insecticides and herbicides.

I have cats and dogs, and I have used a product called Specticide, you can purchase this at Home Depot in the garden section. I hope this helps you, and it will get rid of fleas and ticks.

The easiest thing is to just buy Frontline and put it on your pets once a month. IT is just a little bit of liquid that you put between their shoulderblades. They become flea/tick repellant and hten you don't have to treat your whole yard. Plus, it will work wherever they go. I use this one my animals and I tyhink it is so easy. You can buy Frontline from a vet, but you can probably also find it online.
