Positive thought, yes. Prayer, no. A recent study (I wish I could remember where it was) said that critically ill patients that knew they were being prayed for had more complications.

For those who think this is truly ludicrous, they loose life in its entirety. I knew a women who suffered throat cancer three times and refused to accept its perils and survived it even when she was given six weeks to live! She is still working a full time job five years later! 99.999% of all of life is the will to want to live within it.
