To give you an idea of the talent pool, about 5% of college players go pro each year.
Only about 1 player from every 20 high school teams will even be recruited by a D1 college. And then within that you must deduct roster spaces for JUCO transfers.
Best bet, you better be really good or know someone really high up on the political ladder.

You have to the best player in your high school. Also you have to be one of the top player in your state. You also have to have articles written about you in your city’s newspaper. Then if that happen word of mouth travel to the div 1 college and recruiters will come to the game. They’ll have a conversation with you and the coach. If a div 1 college coach comes and personally come to you and talks to you and the player. You know that they are interesting and also willing and give full ride basketball scholarship.

That’s basically how I know because I have friends that have football scholarship 2 play in div 1 school. And also read it in a book that talks about recruiting and read an article about it on the internet as well.

Pretty good. I think there are about 150 D1 teams and 12 players per team, so only 1800 kids are playing D1 at a time out of millions. Even if there are 300 teams, that's just 3600.

You have to be so good that you are written about in the newspapers on a regular basis and be recruited from those schools. It also helps if your high school team goes to state and wins. Also, your coach should be in communication with recruiters to let them know about you and your interest in playing ball with their schools.

no offense, but if you are asking then you are probably not good enough.

from what i understand, coaches of university teams should come recruit you. if you play in high school and are really good, then word will spread among the college coaches and they will come to you.
