I also have PCOS. My doctor has put me on glucofage to help regulate my hormone levels. I am also on a low suger diet and trying to loose a little weight. He thinks this will help. But if I am not pregnant after a few months then he is putting me on clomid.

He told me that lots of women with PCOS have luck with clomid. If that's an option for you, then I can't see any negative. I doesn't work for everyone, but it has worked for many women who are having difficulties.

Best of luck to you!

I also have PCOS and was put on Clomid for 3 months(100 mg each) with no luck, meaning I did not ovulate while taking this medicine. I take Metformin to regulate my periods and promote ovulation. My doctor said that Clomid does not work for everyone and it does cause cysts (one of the side affects). It is the cheapest fertility treatment is why most doctors try it first. But actually my Metformin is the cheapest, it only costs me $10.00 a month and not only does it regulate periods and promote ovulation it also helps to prevent miscarriage and diabetes, It's a win-win medication! I have been tested and am finally ovulating!! wooooohooooo!! I am 39 years young and still trying for #1. My doctor believes we should finally achieve our dream within the next 6 months!! Good Luck, hope this helped and baby dust to all ttc

Maybe clomid is considered to be a miracle drug. But it works only for 3 to 4 in 5 persons. U cannot trust the drug . But I don't think it is advisory to take clomid if u have pco's becoz clomid itself can cauSe PCO'S if it is taken for long time like more than 6 cycles. Please consult ur doctor or else do Laproscopy and then go for further treatment. Wish u all the best!

Only do it if you are ready to experience the nasty side effects. I hated clomid, the side effects made me a different person and I did it for 7 cycles and had no success. The chance of multiples is very very slim so I wouldn't even worry about that aspect of it. Do what you feel is right.

Ive heard clomid is VERY effective and women that have used it had positive results. If you have PCOS and your doc prescribed it do exactly wha he/she has told you and best of luck!
