Can she take legal action against him,she lives in india,and she is not sure about the cyberlaws of india?

I am not sure about the legal aspects of the question, but the best way to prevent this from happening again is to create strong passwords for all of your online accounts -- and ideally a different password for each account.

Cyber laws in India are not much effective...and you can find no help from Indians..The best thing is to create a secure password next time, however you can mail at ssa@cbi.gov.in for further help against threatning..

Initially, your friend should not have given her password or her ID login to her acquintance. You never know what she may do to it; she may corrupt your friend's account. Why not advise your friend to create a sign-in seal? It may work, I guess!

don't give out email address to untrusted person.
i am also unsure about the laws in india..
