Fatal has to do with fate. An event can be fatal and not cause death. Lethal is always death causing.

well fatal means - Bringing death (so your either dead or nearly there) and Lethal means - deadly
so either way it means the same thing just worded differently

The difference is in fatal you will die for sure whereas in lethal you may still have a slim chance of survival.
