All you need is a name and ID to pick up the money

1 ) He will go to a western union office give them the money.

2) you pick up at the destination office

3) he is notified that you recieved the money

or something like that

It's quite easy

I use Western Union all the time to wire money to my son in collage. I just go to anyplace there's a Western Union (some ATM's have a WU option built in, I've done it from a 7-11 ATM once! Which sounds really shady, huh?) I go there give them cash, pay a surcharge, and they send my "money" to a Western Union in his city and he goes there and picks it up. You do not have to give out a bank account number or any information other than your address and phone. But I also do alot over Ebay, and I've never done anything that way, I've always used PayPal. I'm concerned about his terminology (he's going to "wire you a money order?") Your buyer would pay a much higher premium to use Western Union than PayPal. With PP he would just sign up and the funds would be taken directly out of his account that he provided. Does he have a history on Ebay? Any complaints? Obviously, you know that you can look up his history, I feel a little weird about this...

It depends on how you want it wired. I used to be a bank manager. People are always freaking out about giving out their account number. You realize that every time you've ever written a check to anyone they have your account number, routing number your name, address...It's not a state secret. It's no big deal. No one can do anything at a bank with just an account number. So if you want to wire the money through your bank, check with them about how much it costs (BofA charges $10 to receive a wire transfer and $35 to send a domestic wire transfer and $45 to send an international wire transfer). You'll have to provide the sender your account number, name and routing number (on the bottom of your checks or ask the bank) If you're doing it through a wire service like Western Union they have their own fees. One thing you want to be careful of when receiving a wire transfer is that some countries cannot send/receive wire transfers from the US. An example is Columbia (due to drug trafficking) Hope this helps

yeah, I use ebay too and a guy asked for some information so that he could SUPPOSEDLY WIRE the money, but it was fraud and ebay had to investigate. This guy hacked into my ebay account and started posting listings and all kinds of stuff. Be careful and know your stuff!
