"A taste of one's own medicine" is not always the way to educate people. Sometimes modeling a better way is superior.
Nobody, but nobody, likes being stereotyped. No one wants to think they are seen as just a member of a category, rather than an individual. And for that matter, isn't it stereotyping (thinly disguised concept of racism, after all) to suggest that whites (as a category) stereotype "everyone else."
Seriously, we need to get over this idea that people can be lumped into large groups and treated like animals or inanimate objects. People are individuals, or they are nothing at all. The herd mentality is fatal to human life. The Nazis proved that, the Soviets proved that, how much more proof do you need?

no one likes being stereotyped as it puts the image out that we are all the same. This could not be true as we are all individuals with our own minds, thoughts and ideas about things. Stereotyping does happen i will would not say that it does not exist, as some people have small mentalities. It does not matter what the color of someones skin is to say what kind of person they are. As the way off the world is going we are becoming more and more cross bread with other nationalities and races of people. I find this a good thing as if there are more people in the world that have more than one nationality in them then it is a better chance to stop all the racism.

I am Australian and here we don't have many significant racial issues apart from a handful of people, but i'd say it is like that for the rest of the world. Most of us Aussies stereotype ourselves and only do it to others where it is funny. We love to make fun of each other.
But I do understand what you mean but perhaps the best way to answer this is to say that no one like to be stereotyped negatively. From any racial background and any colour skin!
If you are offended by some white people, don't say that all white people do it to everyone else. That is a stereotype :)
The only times we like to be steroetyped is when it is funny and uplifting. Hardly anyone hates comedians who do this in front of thousands of people. But if a politician said the same things we'd probably take it differently.
So i guess my opinion is that it is ok to stereotype as long as it is acceptable to the group you are stereotyping. Anything else is just not cool and shouldn't be tolerated.

First of all, you really shouldn't STEREOTYPE/generalize a group of people sharing the same skin color (white). Just because some people have a stereotypical view of the world doesn't mean everyone does. Your question also sounds somewhat ignorant. If you feel personally offended by lets say "whites" stereotyping other cultures, should you not rise above these inhibitions and not make the same mistake?

An ethnic stereotype is a generalized representation of an ethnic group, composed of what are thought to be typical characteristics of members of the group. The use of ethnic stereotypes is usually demeaning even when the characteristics might be considered positive because it tends to discount the importance and uniqueness of the individual.
False ethnic stereotypes can gain acceptance as fact through frequent repetition. The use of stereotypes often leads to misunderstanding and hurt feelings, because they may be either untrue generalizations, truthful but unflattering generalizations, or truthful generalizations about a group which are untrue of any given member of a group. Many modern ethnic stereotypes can be described as accurate representations of social norms within a given ethnicity and may reflect what a large portion of the living population is, in fact, doing. Within each ethnicity there is always a minority, or even a majority, that chooses not to reflect the stereotype. But even individuals who do reflect the stereotype may find it negative and offensive.

I never mind them if they don't apply to me personally. For instance, whites are stereotyped as being hillbillies--but I'm not one so I don't mind that one. Sometimes we are said to be interested in marrying our cousins--but I didn't marry, date, or ever see an attraction to my cousin, so that one doesn't bother me either. We are often stereotyped as being well educated and rich. Well I've been to a lot of school but I'm certainly not rich, but that one doesn't really bother me either.
I think races only object to the stereotypes that they see are true with them. So black men that take offense at fathering several children out of wedlock and then never taking care for any of them are probably the ones who actually do that and they don't like white people pointing it out. Hispanics who pile eight guys in a 1975 Monte Carlo and cruise to Tejano music would be offended with other races point that out and laugh at it. And so on. If we find a stereotype offensive it is probably because it is true with us.

This is a very broad statement. Everyone is stereotyped it doesn't matter who they are. Do you like being stereotyped? I wouldn't want to be catagorized with every other white person on this earth. It's not fair for an individual person.

Nobody likes being stereotyped. And actually saying that "whites stereotype" is a stereotype!!
Hopefully, humans will one day evolve past this way of looking at one another. But perhaps not. Maybe it is impossible for us to judge each new experince and person as "new" because we are so controlled by our past...

yes in some cases i think some should, especially the ones doing the stereotyping of other races. but not all white are stereotypical like that, and the ones who aren't are usually the ones that dont like to be stereotyped because they aren't doing that to others

Whites have been stereotyped for as long as any other group has. What is with some blsck people and their "poor Sambo me' attitude. Slavery ended more than 200 years ago in the western world. Why aren't you going on about how muslims still have black slaves in Africa today?
