hypnosis is used to help people quit smoking, that's what my dad did and he hasn't smoked in 20 years, so it would probably work to help someone quit doing drugs. I don't see why not.

Hypnosis helps those who already have their mind set to quit. Strong minded folks have a harder time being hypnotized than do weak minded people.
I firmly believe that a lot of folks have a hard time when first trying to quit drugs and/or alcohol because of the physical withdrawl.
Actually, I don't know.

in some people hypnosis does work. drug addiction is a kind of habit -hard to quit, its habitual. its case to case basis. if the person have strong determination of quiting, drugs or smoking, and working hard to get rid of bad habits there's no need of using or encouraging themselves to undergo hypnosis. hypnosis can temporarily relieve whatever problems you have., or depending to the resistance of your body system., depends also to your mind, controlling the desires and eagerness. about drug addiction, it can be treated -the question is "is the concern person is willing and able to rehab themselves?" another thing is the environment, sorroundings, people around him/her and what kind of friends she/he have, those are the factors we must consider , meaning drugs could be anywhere,.even theres eagerness to quit -drugs/smoking , etc., as i mention above, it depends on the determination of quitting.

Hypnosis works.
However, if someone is using drugs they are likely to either have impaired mental faculties involving the effectiveness of hypnotism (such as attention), or are what is called, "high-self-monitor" types, which are essentially immune to externally induced hypnosis.

I doubt it could end a drug addiction, especially if the addiction is physical and not just mental. It would be nice though.

I have an aunt who said it helped her quit smoking. But, then she started to get fat, so she started smoking again.
