Let's hope no one and it is just a bartering chip to get aid.
They could already hit S.Korea or Japan with missiles which we might assume could be armed with nukes. This would however be crazy unless China has secretly said they would intervene in a nuclear retaliation. We need to end the Korean war officially and negotiate a moratorium to nukes on the Korean peninsula.
I think this should be done through the U.N. and in terms of finalizing the seize fire into a peace treaty, could be unilateral between the U.S. and the North Koreans. This would give us the rational to act unilaterally. However, Japan, South Korea, China, and Russia all have strong interests, so any treaty should take this into consideration. I am in favor of food aid as a form of reparation to the North for the Korean War. Yes they could be seen as the aggressors then and now, but what right did the U.S. have to go in there or anywhere else. The situation we have now is an example of how a "might makes right" mentality proliferates.
Nukes are the ultimate might...do they really make a country right?

Well first of all, the president of North Korea is a pompous, arrogant lunatic. But he has already stated that he will attack South Korea first. At least that's what we get here on our television in Pennsylvania, usa. But we also have to remember that this guy changes his mind with the wind. I don't trust him at all. When you have a dictator that is insane, he can, and most likely will, do just about anything. I feel SO bad for all the South Koreans over there....not to mention even the North Koreans. I'm sure that they don't like what their dictator is doing any more than we do. But I do wish you all the best of luck and try and stay safe over there !

South Korea is the only place he can attack. Unless he wants o fire a missile at Japan. He has no capability to move large amounts of troops overseas. I saw how all the students were demonstrating about US troops in South Korea some time back. They still want our troops to pull out?

Are you sure you are 'confused' about who N. Korea would want to attack? Come on now! You should be asking who N.K. does NOT want to attack! But, since you people have the current 'Sunshine policy' towards N.K. and won't take a firm stand towards your security and integrity, you guys can continue to 'talk' things out with them for another 50 years. How long does diplomacy and talking go on before you realize they are uncompromising tyrants??!!
Since S. Korea is currently in the process of taking commandeering control of ALL armed forces , including American forces, within it's borders, it is my hope that the U.S has withdrawn all of our forces from the peninsula before DIRECT hostile acts are begun, should any occur.
We don't need to fight a war for someone else if they just wanna 'talk' it out forever. Unlike S. Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan make efforts and sacrifices to free themselves and their land of terrorists. Learn a lesson.
But I would not be surprised if N. Korea uses the 'bomb' on it's own people just like Saddam did with gas and the Kurds. He's demonic enough to starve his own peeps, so.......

Hi. I live in Texas. I don't know what kind of news you get their, but here, we are given news and info that would indicate your country would be hit, because we have troops there and they (he) wants to control your country too. Also Japan and the USA, because he's a crazy man and wants to go down in history as the one that started world war 3. I'm glad I'm not living in your country right now! Get out while you can. Good luck and may God watch over you and your family.

Sorry but South Korea is probably the first on the list.
But take heart. My country (U.S.A.) will destroy that creepy little midget and his backwards country in short order.
