Dont quote me on this but i remember a news story that came out around the same time as the movie.

It said that someone connected to the movie annnounced that the lady portrayed in the movie (the old woman) actually did exist. as for the story of jack and the girl i dont know.

The story was that the lady visited the ship back in the 80's during the early explorations of titanic, and they redid it for the movie.

I've continually heard he did not exist.

Yep,and they managed to revive him ,they had just invented the heart starter jumper thingos,He live to a ripe old age in dublin after deciding not to go to the us because of shipping problems.He fathered 18 children.

That story was made up; there was no Jack. Although many people died that day, the story of Jack and that chick (forgot the name) was made up.
