It sounds like your router has a different IP address. Try a different number in the third slot. Mine is 192.168.0.1, and I've also seen 192.168.2.1, 192.168.3.1, etc. Modems, incidentally, are usually 192.168.100.1.

I am assuming that you are trying to access your Router's homepage.
To see the site at IP address 192.168.1.1, your IP needs to be 192.168.1.x (x=2 ... 254) and netmask needs to be 255.255.255.0
To determine your current IP, open command prompt and type IPCONFIG and press enter.
To change the IP of your system, Goto control panel->Network Connections. Right click on your Network Card (local area network) and select Properties. Click TCP/IP and click Properties.

This ip address is used for local intranets. It is assigned to computers in a network. It is not an address of a web site. Therefore you can not view it via a browser.

type ipconfig /all in the cmd prompt...
then take note of the gateway ip...
that could be the router's ip add

i assume u are hooked up to a router.
try releasing your ip ipconfig /release
then renewing it
ipconfig /renew
