To keep from losing body fluids in extreme heat, kangaroos
do not sweat, its skin doesn't have a sweat gland. During hot weather, kangaroos lick their forearms to promote heat loss by evaporation. Kangaroo is an Australian marsupial noted for hopping and bouncing on their hind legs with a well developed pouch.♥

As the saliva evaporates, it wicks away body heat.
Same effect as when we sweat, but they don't sweat, so they lick.
