ok you fell in love for the first time he,s everything you ever wanted but then one day things change you break up but you can,t seem to get this person out of your mind.

Honstly this has something to do with your self conviction, your ability to judge properly.
When you fell in love with a person for the first time it is NOT instantaneous or LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT as they. .It would , certainly, have been a slow step by step process , in which you internalised the process. You mentally agreed to overcome his defficiencies, his limitations and you thought you would be able to accept him as a whole , as a package. But, then things turn out to be different in your perception.
because you judged first and took those decisions you donot want to feel that your judgement was wrong.You will, then , start to doubt your own ability to judge. You will lose your confidence in yourself.
It is this "self defence " mechanism that comes into play and you always feel good about your first love. I would even go further and say that you will find it hard to shake your first love if the break up was more due to your own fault or changed perception than his /her fault.
finally, what is wrong feeling that way? That is human and that is natural also

The very sad thing is, you could possibly wonder what it would have been like the rest of your life!! I recently dated my first love, and felt the same as i did as a teen, not sure if it was him, or just the memories! Being my first love, however, he will always be in my heart. By the way, i am 50 now, and in a relationship wiht a wonderful person. But that first love is always lurking around, in my mind, my heart, and he deserves that, after he all he was the first one..So don't fret this, it's perfectly normal. I wished i could say the feeling will go away, but, It WON'T! Best of luck!

If you find out the answer to this, clue me in and maybe we can find a way to forget our first! I don't think you're meant to forget your first. I stayed with my first for 4 years and I thought I would marry him and have kids and live happily ever after....then life hit. I met my now live in boyfriend and had a daughter. I think first loves are meant to prepare you for the real thing. I still think of my first when a certain song plays or I see something on TV or something but he taught me alot and the main thing was never to regret what was already done. And anyway a piece of my heart will always be with him, the same as any first love.

Unfortunately, you may never fully "shake" your first love. I never have. My first is married, has adult kids, and so do I. We see each other every few years and correspond during holiday season. Our common crush for each other has mellowed over the years and has become a warm memory. We're now in love with other people and have very different lives. But, shake it? Never. Don't luxuriate in your melancholy. Just accept the experience and move on. You'll probably always have a special spot for your special first love.

You are absolutely right. First love can never be forgotten because when u feel Love for the firs time, its an reflection in your empty & innocent heart. And it makes its base into that emptiness. The first feeling of CARE, UNDERSTANDING, TENDERNESS, CURIOSITY, TOUCH ......all takes you to the land of Fantasies and emotions. But if unfortunately, the relation breaks up the fantasy changes into emotionaless world. FIRST LOVE FEELING IS AMAZING. It cant cant cant be forgotten and if in case its forgotten then its not LOVE....!!!

probably because he brought out your first emotions and true feelings its like when you try something for the first time it always has that certain impact you know what i mean same thing with love when you find a good man im sure you be able to shake him but in the same token youll never forget him

you never can shake this person because of the obvious, which is they were you first love. It's one of those life milestones kinda like your first house or your first car.

mmm...it'll take some time to do that. and he wont be totally dissaperared from your mind, you cant just 100% forget him and move on.
It took me more than 3 years and still going to do that...
