I'm an RN and the simple answer to your question is no. However, if you could tell me more information related to your unknown medical term maybe it could be figured out. The last part sounds like it could be "cortex" which is the outer layer of an organ such as the adrenal gland, kidney, ovary, lymph node,thymus gland, and cerebrum and cerebellum of the brain. Also it is the outer layer of a structure as a hair or the lens of the eye. As for the first part of the unrecognizable medical term , "diastase" means a separation. "Diastasis" refers to injury to a bone involving separation of an epiphysis. In cardiac physiology it is the last part of diastole. In pregnant women it is a lateral separation of the two halves of the rectus dominus muscle. Thus you can understand how difficult it is to try and figure out something that is spelled wrong and lacks information regarding its use in medicine. Hope this helps. Good luck to you.
