I would say the average is around 10-12. But it honestly depends on the height. My girlfriend could still trick or treat if she really wanted to. She is a munchkin. I am begging her to but she won't. She says I'm 30 years old and that isn't right for the kids but I say do it anyway.

Are you ever too old for free candy? If you want an excuse try taking a younger sibling or if one of your friends is taking thier younger sibling out then go with them. If you think you've outgrown Trick or Treating then you could go to a Halloween party or something instead. If nothing else, stay home and watch some horror movies with your friends.

You're never too old to go trick or treating. If you feel comfortable doing it, why worry about what everyone else thinks? Just go have some fun!

I wouldn't let mine go trick-or-treating once they reached 13. If they wanted to escort younger kids around & happened to get some candy doing that - well, that's different! But I have to admit, I hate it when these sullen groups of teens (14-17) ((big kids))
knock on the door, thrust out a bag - no greeting, no reply - most don't even bother with an attempt at a costume! - I don't want to give them candy!! But they know where I live, right, so who wants their car egged or the house tp'd? So I give them candy,
but I MAKE them say thank you!! I say cut off T&T at 12-13.
Have a special Halloween party for them after that!!!

As long as your going to have fun and to celebrate the holiday in good cheer why not forever? Make sure you contribute as well by sharing candy with trick-or-treaters at your own home or doing something fun for the kids.
Of course you don't want it to become a problem or controversy so don't reveal your "secret identity" to the hosts handing out the candy if you think it could become a confrontational situation because they might not appreciate someone a little older dressed up as Count Dracula even if he is younger at heart. That would take all the fun out of it!

I don't think you're ever too old to go, but you could lay off taking the candy by 13-- saves more for the little kids. You should have an allowance by then and can buy your own candy, plus not get too many calories!

You're never "too old" for trick or treating!
Maybe if you don't have enough time or something, however you can still dress up for the day.

I think 14 is pushing it. I hate having these teenage boys come to my door with a t-shirt on and some paint on their face and call it their "costume". If you're willing to dress up and wear a proper costume i'm more than willing to give candy but don't be lazy and expect to get something!
