Isn't it a good thing that she doesn't want to wear lipstick? Make-up on any young girl's face could lead to chemical damage on her skin. Natural is the best type of beauty, you know?

And you take away her cellphone, for shame~

(Btw, you are in the wrong category...)

what?
you took away her CELL PHONE, for not wearing LIPSTICK?
UMMMMM..............ok...why would you care if she was or was not wearing lipstick? how old is she and why must she wear it?
if she is young enough for you to take her cell away, then what kind of stuff are you teaching her? to be superficial? does lipstick really matter that much??
I'm really just baffled by this question
its not really a matter of harshness but more of values
if cell phones and lipstick is on the list of reasons and ways to punish your children then there is clearly problem

Are you setting a good example and wearing YOUR lipstick, mommy? You know, she's not going to dress like a slut if you don't....an 11 yr old wearing her lipstick is an important goal for life. So turn in your cell phone, too!

YEAH!

That's not discipline because it should be her desicion whether or not to wear lipstick.
You shouldn't control every choice she makes.
