I was 3 cm. dilated and 75% effaced for 2 weeks, so don't get your hopes up there, but if your due date is in 2 days, you have a very good chance you will go into labor soon. Good luck and don't worry. The best thing is to just act like it is nowhere near time and go about your business, otherwise it just seams to stretch on forever.

it depends if it is your 1st pregnancy! The longer the labor is during the 1st pregnancy unlike when it is your 2nd, 3rd, etc. it is much faster. The cervix will dilate up to 10 cm. Once fully dilated, it means that the baby is about to come out. Just inform your obstetrician if you had passed water
( the bag of water ) or blood. The labor pains usually starts in the lower abdomen then spread over the lower back. If the abdomen keeps on contracting and it is becoming hard then labor is coming soon. Congratulations! just bear the pain ! have patience & you will see the reward soon!

OK...I know it is a bit of an old wives tale, but nipple stimulation really does work in cases like yours. I was in the exact same situation and it worked great for me...I gave birth that same day and the delivery was fantastic! Plus, your significant other can have a blast doing the stimulation for you! An hour or so and you should begin to feel little contractions. Not all doctors will agree with this, but done in moderation this is a safe way of helping things along. It really worked for me!

Congratuations..one way or another, you are certainly going to have that baby soon enough!

It's hard to say. My boss was having contractions for a month and dilated to 2 for several weeks before her son was born. Congrats on the baby!

No, one centimetre isn't that far. The more you relax the faster the labour will come on. You cand o things to begin the labour, such as going for walks, having sex. It is old wives tales but it has been said they can enduce the labour process. Hope you ahve a wonderful delivery and congrats! What a joy to be expecting!

Hard to tell... if this is your first child, the process can take a lot longer than with subsequent kids because your body's never done it before.

Try rolling your nipples, with your fingers, for several minutes, several times a day. It will cause your uterus to contract and put you into labor quicker, if that's what you're hoping for. Good luck!

start walking! Vigorous excercise will help and may cause contractions. Walk up and down some stairs. Or while in the shower, for privacy sake, stimulate your nipples. This will definitely cause your uterus to contract. Good luck!

you maybe if you can't get comfortable expect to go within the next 24 hours, another sign is extreme cleaning. but the main one is you can not get comfortable no matter what you do that is a huge sign just get as much rest as you can because it won't be long till you hold your beautiful baby.
