I've never seen a child get traumatized by a pinata. Kids are not that stupid. If a child is old enough to have a pinata, then they are old enough to understand that the cardboard, paper character in front of them is not alive or real. I can't believe what people come up with sometimes, kids are a lot smarter than we give them credit for.

Sounds like your parenting teacher has her own issues with pinatas.

Kids love them and I was never traumatized as a child by hitting a pinata. I say live it up and be dangerous!!!!! Buy the pinata!

I think that kids know the pinata is s treat carrier. I think it is an old tradition that is loved by so many of us. These kids cannot get enoungh pinata. Viva La Pinata!!!

Your parenting teacher has been in some drama, in their past, a Pinata has been in my family for many, many years, I am Mexican, and no it is ok to have them at kids parties, she is crazy, so just ignore her, they don't know everything..have fun......

her theory is silly, kids love the pinatas and it is fun and delightful....... she must be brand new at this, so do what you know is right and let your kids have fun....there is nothing wrong with having this for a party......
