Detroit is the definate favorite in the ALCS. With the best pitching staff in baseball and a lineup that is all comming togather at the right time, they cant be beat. Especially with the momentum they have after beating thr Yankees. gimme the tigers in 5

Before game 1 I predicted A's in 6. I'll stick with that even though Detroit was favored by most people by the series. Detroit has great pitching, and some power hitters, they probably should win this series from a matchup standpoint, but I don't know even with less talent than some teams, A's just get on base and find someway to do it. I know Rogers had a great game against NYY but I'm not totally bought on him, and Verlander hasn't pitched that great in the playoffs. Bonderman is more solid right now than any A's starter, and I think he'll give Detroit their other playoff victory here, but I'd still take the A's staff over Detroit right now.

Detroit and Oakland seems to be even. But Oakland has dominated their division this season. Tigers were winning and winning until a losing streak occured.

But Tigers has 3 more wins then OAK so there is one in three chances that Tigers might go to the WS.

Detroit is favored to win. Right now their pitching is the best in the bigs...and they definitely have a little bit of momentum coming off the Yankees series. The Tigers didn't just beat a lineup that was argued to be " the best in the history of MLB", they made them look like a bunch of amateurs at the plate. They are definitely firing on all cylinders right now...gonna be hard to stop!

I assume Oakland - they won the season series and have the home field advantage.
I never have quite understood why MLB penalizes teams for being in a good division. Detriot had the better record and plays the same competition but Oakland gets the home field advatage becasue they won their division and Detroit did not.

That depends on which expert you ask.

A lot of good solid baseball people say Oakland in 6. Or 7.
Again, depending on who you ask.

I think they are right about one thing. It will go 7 games.

Oakland is a tough team with very good pitching.
So is Detroit. In my expert opinion, I'll say it's even.

the detroit tigers are the favorite in the ALCS because all their problems that they had before the post-season have all vanished.
The tigers are commin together and it couldnt be at a better time. the way their defense is playin and the way they are hitting is going to be the deciding factor in this series. Not to mention the way that the tigers shut down the A's best pitcher tonight...if they do that every game theyll be tough to contend with. DET wins this series in 6.

The experts predicted that it would be the Twins and Yankees, so scr*w the experts. The Tigers fans are being modest at Georgie's instructions, so I will give my disinterested and non-expert opinion. Based on the beating that the Tigers gave the Athletics tonight, at their house, on national TV, with Zito pitching, in my expert opinion, I say that the A's will win the game that Harren pitches and that's it. Tigers in 5.

75% of ESPN analysists are saying it's going to be very close because of pitching from both teams, the rest say Oakland because they got their so fast or Detroit because they beat the Yankees. Who knows, they'll probably change they're minds alot before it's over?
