All of my friends listen to rap, but I like rock and other music. On itunes, one of the best selling cd was the evanescence cd. It sounded pretty good but I was worried if that's something I could listen to without being insulted.

The Evanescence CD is good.
It's not weird to have different taste than your friends. Variety is the spice of life.

Yeah, it's ok if you listen to other things your friends don't. Be yourself and listen to what it is you like. Chances are, some of your friends probably like other music other than rap too but just won't say because the majority of you like rap. And if it helps, one of my guy friends was just telling me about the new CD just a few days ago and was going nuts over it. lol Hope this helps. =)

While I absolutely hate Evanescence, don't let others force their musical tastes on you. You must be original and you must be yourself. That being said.... you should try listening to the Strokes or Kings of Leon or something.

Their music is awesome, I just discovered it last year. Having a variety of music likes isn't weird. At your age, I know it's hard sometimes to go against what your friends are into but hey, maybe you can turn them onto something they'd otherwise be missing out on. If not, it's their loss...you just keep on rocking :)

Im 17 and ive been listening to Evanescence since i was like 13 or somthing like that and they're my favorite band. i love them. im not gay either. but their cd Fallen is good too and so is origin but its really hard to find. dont care what other people think. its your life...not theirs! :)

You just rock on son. I'm in my mid twenties and don't mind Evenescence. The previous posters are right, don't mind what they say, do what you're gonna do. That said, play your friends some Stuck Mojo or Clutch to try to sway them to the rock side. Or Nirvana, but that was probably just my generation.

I wouldn't say your weird evanescence is alright but when you sart listening to nelly then your weird. I preffer Led Zeppelin

No,even Justin Timberlake likes Evanesence,if your friends thinks u are weird becuz of the kind of music u listen to then it's their one problem.
