I am all for voting ID cards. The people against them that preach that the poor could not afford them seem to forget that these people usually do not vote anyway. In my state, it is also illegal to walk around without a proper form of identification. It is punishable by a fine up to $252. They should have to show two forms of ID, a picture ID and a social security card, just like the job they should be working at.

This is another Fox News sound bite.
I have been voting for over 20 years now, and I have always shown my ID. Plus I have lived in many different areas and I have also been asked. You see Fox News knows most people don't vote and have no clue what is required when voting. The GOP makes an issue out of nothing, Fox News gives you neat sounding sound bites, because your brain is to small to handle anything bigger. Armed with great new News you help spread this lie on the Internet.
You want to help improve the elections, 1 VOTE 2 Demand a Paper trail. Thats it.
One more thing turn off Fox News and start thinking for yourself.
And the people that are screaming about stolen elections is over 50% of the people.

You don't need an ID when voting in Oregon, just a signature.
Oregon is the only state that does a vote-by-mail system (thus we are always last to report in Presidential elections.)

If you can do the above mentioned, you already have an ID.
Not making a 'vote ID' in addition to one you already have is the issue.
And if you've no drivers liscence, a state ID is already obtainable.
Another multi-billion dollar beuracracy for an additional ID is what people are against.

I.D. should be required to register, not at the polls. That is one of many ways that have been used to deny the vote in the past, particularly to blacks, Indians and the illiterate

I concur. Having id's protects EVERYBODY's voting rights. Some people will gripe about a $10.00 id, but wont blink twice about buying a $40 bag of pot. Priorities.
