I'm trying to develop my vocal range and Im just trying to figure out how to sing with more passion and soul. Its like everytime I sing I have no emotion. Please help :-) Thanks
Oh yeah, Please don tell me to take voice lessons because I cant afford it :-)

pretend your singing the song to someone you really love and you mean what your singing to them..

Try to feel the emotions. Maybe you are too young to have felt pain or suffering. If so, good for you.

I suggest listening to singers who express their emotions such as Bettye LaVette, Billie Holiday. I love Ella Fitzgerald but she sings with joy and I don't know if that is what you are trying to acheive.

The bolded, main part of your question is just a great line. I have no answer for you, but it just totally sounds like something I think I'll say. It sounds like a line in a Bruce Springsteen song.
