The US. We have the most people in jail.

Any country, if you are poor. Your only as free as you've got the jack to pay for it. Many would say that Iraq under Sadaam was one of the most restrictive but Sadaam did not seem to be living in fear. Until we got there, that is.

Most likely I would answer, overall, North Korea. Most people there cannot escape and would be shot if they tried. They live in fear of being caught knowing about the outside world or possessing media from outside. Their government is paranoid and brutal.

Amazing some of you guys think Singapore is more strict than North Korea. Not even close.

It depends on which catagory you are looking at.
I would say the USA has the most overall laws, but then again if you lived in the Saddam Hussein regime then you would have the most restrictive laws.
Likewise if you live in the Middle East then there are many things you cannot do which you can in the USA or Europe, mainly religious based but none the less laws.
If you live in the USA for example there are stupid laws police do not even bother with, for example, it is illegal to hunt for moths in Los Angeles under a streetlight.
So I would say the USA has the most prohibitive laws and age restrictions, whilst Middle eastern countries have the most religious laws, you decide.

sounds like Singapore. If you get flogged for drawing graffiti in public (remember one of the American guy got flogged a few years back and even the US couldn't ask the Singapore govt for pardon) and get hanged for drugs trafficking even if you're not bringing the drugs into Singapore...you're only passing by to get a connecting flight (there's this Asian born - Australian citizen got hang for carrying cocaine from Thailand passing thru Singapore to go back to Australia). Now what do you think?

I think Singapore Malaysia. They will cane your backside for throwing gum on the street. Remember that senators son. They stroked his A*ss 15 lashes with a bamboo cane for keying someone's car.

i would say saudi arabia. there are severe restrictions on women's activities and homosexuality is a capital offense. You can be tortured for crimes, and theives still have their hands cut off. Executions are still conducted by stoning and beheading.
