Democrats promised they'd win in 2004, 2002 and 2000...and lost....what makes 2006 any different? It seems to me that Democrats are the same old leftwing extremists they've always been, they have given voters no new reason to vote for them. Until that changes, they should be prepared to lose every time.

If you remember, after they lost everything in 2004, the democrats refused to change their leadership. So their chances of winning anything this year is pretty slim, considering that hey have not changed the policies that were rejected 2 years ago

I agree. There's still an air of calm among Republicans, despite the Foley scandal. I dunno...maybe they know something we don't...maybe they have a grip o' money to take that last swing, now that the elections are closing in. But I think NK's nuke test has in a way helped the Republicans reinforce the message of, "see...look at what happens when you play nice with the axis of evil!"

But I totally agree with you, the Republicans may have screwed themselves, but the Democrats are still the same ol' lily livered, weak, indecisive party, with their mealy mouthed objections and changing positions to constantly suit their needs for the moment. The one thing Republicans do very well is they don't waver. They're practically dead in the water and the Democrats are STILL fumbling around without a single, clear cut message. Americans loathe weakness and the Democrats have been the king of weak for too long.

Democrats will always falter because they don't run on issues. I still waiting to hear their plan for Iraq. What about stupid People in New Jersey. They elected a gov. who hired his lover at taxpayers ex pence. When he screwed up they elected a Gov. who gave his xlover a house. That lover is head of the Unions he has to deal with.
How can a state elect such deviants as Foley and McGrevey. Why don't political parties do background checks before the support a candidate for office.
I'm for term limits. No Politicians should wield such power in Washington.

we'll have to wait and see what happens. republicans are in a much worse position now than they were in 2000, 2002, or 2004. And pointing to 6 years of history is hardly indicative of a long-term trend. And democrats today aren't left-wing extremists. They barely offer any oppositon to republicans, and all the time you hear about democratic leaders speaking to conservatives hoping to gain their support (howard dean and falwell for example).

Maybe democrats aren't offering any new reason to vote for democrats, but republicans are offering many reasons NOT to vote for republicans. That, analysts are predicting, will be enough to guarantee democrats a victory in november. There are two parties. In order for one to win, it doesn't have to offer a sound plan, it only has to be more popular than the other party.

you should probably look at the news on occasion and see the great feats the republicans have pulled off then you can answer your own question with the lesser of the 2 evils

It's all so much hype everywhere, all they are going on are polls, thinking they got it made, trusting the pollsters what did the pollsters say last time? They don't take into account the pollsters are crooked.

Actually, bush, cheney, rove, and other neo-cons like you have given people reason to vote Democrat. Right-wing extremists like you who believe the crazy things you believe are causing more people to change their vote. Good luck in November...

Let's revisit that in another month, fella. Americans have had six years of a Republican administration and the situation has steadily worsened in Iraq, North Korea, and Iran.......the "Axis of Evil" that President Bush swore to disable.

Your critique isn't totally without merit, though. Dems have been passive and reluctant to really voice their opposition to Bush, particularly after 9-11....which I think plays more into the President's longevity more than anything. Without having the "fear card" to play, I doubt he would've been a 2-term President.

well... when Republicans start winning by more than a hair... I'll start believing that dems don't have a chance... you barely beat kerry... KERRY for Christ sakes... and you're that confident?

keep it up... in fact, you're going to win by such a huge margin it's a waste of time for you to even vote... I'm sure you have something better to do that day...
