I was to much of a wuss to break up with this girl. So I had a friend call her and tell her I died in a car accident. Well I was walking through the grocery store in the dairy section to pick up milk when I heard someone say "You ****** prick." I looked over and there she was. She then said "I cried for you you son of a *****" and slapped the hell out of my face. I might have done wrong but was it worthy of a slap in the face

You are lucky she only slap you in your face. Sorry to say but if I were her I would kick you where it counts. If you are a mature you would handle this the right way. You would call her up or meet up with her and tell her why you want to break up.I am sure she will take it like a woman. Making up story such as you dying is very cruel to yourself and to her as well. This is not a joke. She truely care for you that's why she cried for you.
