Thinking about moving to Denver area and would like to know what are considered the "good" areas and what are the less desirable areas. Are there any parts of town that we should definitely stay away from?

There's a sub division in Cherry Creek called "South Park" ... ah, the real "South Park" is South of Denver ... but this sub-division is neat.

The Denver area quickly changes from desirable to undesirable. Kinda scary really. You should have an idea where you're working. Most of Denver is dependant on two freeways (I-25 & I-70) ... and it's a cluster!!! Get a good real-estate agent to help you.

Hot spots are: Highlands Ranch, Tech Center, Creek, Flat Irons ... but they're all far away from each other.

Stay away from East Denver, Montbello, Commerce City (very Industrial) , around Downtown (although IN downtown is not too bad, kinda preppy now). The Suburbs are the way to go, like Arvada, Broomfield, parts of Westminster, Thornton, Littleton, Bear Valley. I had a friend ask me the same question, as I now live in Florida. He moved to Thornton and absolutely LOVES IT. Traffic is a nightmare, so try to live near to your work.
