birth control is not 100% especially if you use it incorrectly and research has shown most teens don't know the proper way to use condoms. also if on the pill they don't take precautions if they miss a day or if they are on some other medication that will lower the effectiveness

There are several reasons. Lack of knowledge is one of the biggest factors. Some people still think that they cannot get pregnant if they have sex only one or two times. Others do not think before they act. Lack of access to birth control is another problem. Some young people also want to start a family to leave their family of origin.

Most girls are too embarrased to tell their parents or afraid their parents will find out. Also, many teens don't have the conversation that most adults do about having sex until the moment is there and they don't want to hurt the guys feelings or feel akward. Birth Control like the pill are hard to remember to take when you have school and sports and other such things.

Birth Control can be free. So the only reason a teenager wouldn't have access to it is because they won't be upfront about what they are doing.
and no Birth control nor condoms are 100%.
Only no sex is.
So let's go ahead and welcome the future teenage pregnancies.

Our city is third in the state for teen pregnancies. The majority are Hispanic. I'm not racist, just stating a fact. I think they have a large moral lack of judgment. And they all say they are Catholic and also that they can't date, etc. until they are 15, then all he** breaks loose. These guys and gals seriously do what they want, when they want, wherever they want, all without the slightest hint of conscience that what they are doing is wrong.
