Depends on the temperature!
If it's too cold outside, I sleep with heater on, windows close
If it's a hot summer night, I dont have ac, so windows open!!!

Winter Closed - /
The unseen force
What beacons me I do not know
yet through the snow the wind whispers her name
gently against a loose window Payne
Betttthhhhh the lonely wind seems to chant
delivering her name ever so softly against
my window Payne
warm and snug under my bedding.
It is the winters wind that delivers my warmth
ever so diligently at my window sill
Not my trusty quilt nor my flannels or silk
keep me as warm as the unseen force
that gallops like a steed on this
cold winters eve
my warmth has been delivered just
moments before I doze
Clamoring against the windows
My warmth glows.
The radiant whispers of Beth
fill my head, fill my heart fill my sole
as I embrace a warm and peaceful
sleep made possible by the chants of the lonely winters wind
Summer Open - /////

by the early moonlight
the tall grasses sway in a gentle breezee
as if dancing a love dance while serenaded
by a quartet of the most senior crickets

at the shore the sweet smell of cotton candy
wrestles playfully with a salty summer breez
from the observation deck of a lonely lifeguard stand
the endless sky is filled with beautiful stars shimmering silver
and gold as if competing for the attention of the two lovers by trying to outshine
neighboring stars vying for the crown of the most beautiful star that night.

As if trying not to be out done the moon glows a most magnificent full glow as the last
colorful butterflies pass overhead in route to their romantic interlude at the edge of the sea atop a flowering magnolia. The wise old moon can not be outdone by flickering stars.
One final trick the moon dips nearer to the sea casting a shimmer across the waves more beautiful then all the stars in heaven. The moon succeeds.

The beauty of the tall grass and chirps of crickets being washed by moonlight and the summer breeze carrying sweet summer smells. A star filled night competing with the beauty of the moon and its reflection across and endless sea. There is nothing here that I see that is more beautiful then thee.

I like the idea of sleeping with the windows open, but the reality is that it's often too noisy outside, and the barking of the neighborhood dogs make my own indoor dogs start barking. So I close the windows at night.

Depends on the weather. We have no air conditioning, so in summer we have to sleep with the windows open.

It depends on how myself and my pet feel about street sounds at the time. We have street noise the windows are mostly closed or almost closed. I dont need earplugs or Q-tips fortunately when listening inside or outside and around windows or not.
