My husband was and while he was at the doctor's was told that there was quite a few cases this yearl. My husband is the only one who has been bite that I know.

Thank God no. Been through that ordeal. We lived with some for 4 months and spent 90% of our money going to the doctor,missing work and buying meds.

The answer to this question will depend upon where you live. Spider bites from the brown recluse are reported from all over the country. Most of these claims are a misdiagnosis. The Brown Recluse only lives in the South Central region of the United States. If you live in Nevada, Florida, or New York, for example, then your hubby wasn't bitten by a brown recluse. If you live, however, in Tennessee or Mississippi then MAYBE he was bitten. I say maybe because it is estimated that upwards of 75% of all diagnosed brown recluse bites are wrong. Other insect bites, lesions, sores, or any blemish and rash that a doctor can't identify is usually written off as a spider bite and the brown recluse is the most often blamed culprit. These common misdiagnoses make it virtually impossible to calculate the number of actual brown recluse bites.

No. But a relative of mine was, and you can't believe the damage that resulted from it.
