The ex probably had to go to great lengths to make sure you heard about said naming. This probably indicates, more than the naming, that the ex is still trying to get your attention.

That's cute. It's a free spirit, can make it on it's own, is tough when it needs to... so look at it that way.. and joke with him, even if it's not meant as a positive... turn it into one.
