The song is "Safety". Several artists have recorded this, the song's composer, Oscar Williams & Perfected Praise, GMWA Mass Choir, and Lecresia Campbell (featured on Gospel Today Presents Praise & Worship)

Found the following lyrics at Black Gospel Lyrics Ministry, http://www.blackgospellyricministry.org . You can usually find whatever gospel song you need on their site, but if you can't, you can also request it on their message board.

Safety
(written by Oscar Jr. Williams)
(recorded by Oscar Williams & Perfected Praise and also Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) Mass Choir)
(based on Psalm 27)

Verse:
He that dwelleth in the secret place
of the most high God, shall abide in His grace.

And he that walketh through the valley of death,
shall in no wise be entangled
by God’s hand, He shall be kept.

If I go into the heavens, He knows.
If I go into the deepest depths, He knows.
So no matter what may come my way,
I’m covered by His blood,
even when Satan seems to rage,
from His hand, I’m hidden safe.

I’m in His safety, dwell in His safety,
the safety of the Lord.

Nothing can stop me, nor can you block me,
why, because I’m in the safety of the Lord.

Chorus:
I’m in His safety,
dwell in His safety,
the safety of the Lord.

Bridge:
He is the captain of my soul,
He is my fortress from all harm.
When the storms of life
begin to rage in my life,
I run into the Master’s arms.

Chorus

Bridge

Vamp:
I’m in His safety.

Ending:
I’m in His safety,
dwell in His safety,

The safety of the Lord.
(repeat as desired)

"Leader of the Pack" was my favorite. I also think the genre served an important purpose. It reminded teenagers of the grief caused by careless actions. All things considered, that was a lesson well worth teaching. Those songs may have saved lives. My favorite sad maudlin tune that does not quite fit in that group, is the Ballad of the Edmund Fitzgerald. A lot of good lives have been lost in the Great Lakes.
