There is a lot of opposition, but I don't know why? What is a good reason? I don't see anything wrong with it. In fact I'm all for it. People put up fences and brick walls between their neighbors even if they get along so why shouldn't the USA?

How about developing a politically acceptable set of laws or a foreign policy with Mexico first? Is there any part of the fact that you should have a sore spot in your rectum that you need to better understand? Is this really the best possible solution? That fence will be swiss fricken cheese within months!!!!
And then what? We'll be right back where we started--just like we are now with North Korea!!

I see it as I see gun control. All it does is spend a lot of money and accomplish nothing. The only things that will keep illegals from crossing the border is sufficient saturation of the border with border patrol personnel or having Mexico's corruption controlled to the extent that people can make a living there and feel no need to leave.
IMO the fence is a panacea and the only people it will impress are those who believe that disarming law abiding citizens will lower the crime rate.

Mexico side or Canada side? Not to familiar with the geography down Mexico way but the wall to fence out Canada would be quite the accomplishment....don't think you have to many problems with Canadians though either.

Because its a waist of money. Think about it, most Mexicans are getting through by tunneling under the existing barriors. How would a new wall help with the tunnels?
Waste of money IMO, just something else to take peoples mind off of the war.

it is a giant waste of money for starters...we have a hell of a lot more problems than people coming into this country todo jobs that we don't want to do anyway. it is a non-issue created by the media and the government to take away from our real problems.
