Lemming suicide is fiction. Contrary to popular belief, lemmings do not periodically hurl themselves off of cliffs and into the sea. Cyclical explosions in population do occasionally induce lemmings to attempt to migrate to areas of lesser population density. When such a migration occurs, some lemmings die by falling over cliffs or drowning in lakes or rivers. These deaths are not deliberate "suicide" attempts, however, but accidental deaths resulting from the lemmings' venturing into unfamiliar territories and being crowded and pushed over dangerous ledges. In fact, when the competition for food, space, or mates becomes too intense, lemmings are much more likely to kill each other than to kill themselves.

Lemmings do not commit mass suicide.
It is a myth. Lemmings have periodic decreases in their population, due to decreased food availability.

that is not to any extent further hardship-free to categorise animals killing themselves as suicide, even even as they make a call to finish slightly aspect that takes their lives. Whales will sea coast themselves yet is it suicide? probable now no longer, better probable there is a few aspect incorrect with them internally. I had a fish as right away as that continuously jumped out of the fish bowl, extremely 3-4 circumstances an afternoon. replaced into he committing suicide? particular yet we kept putting him decrease back and he kept jumping out. I placed him in a pond in our outdoor and he remains in there. So he wasn't committing suicide, he replaced into attempting to get out of someplace that he did now no longer favor to be. Now i might want to agree that they participate in passive suicide. for instance, even as 2 older dogs stay jointly and one dies. each and every each and every each and every now and then the diverse refuses to devour or drink till finally they die. So obviously that they are depressed over the shortcoming of the diverse and reason themselves to die. besides the straightforward undeniable actuality that, this may no longer be suicide and distinctly an animal now no longer wanting to devour or drink basically through actuality they do now no longer comprehend the position the diverse is. So i might want to assert no, they do now no longer devote suicide contained contained in the similar way as people do. they in hardship-free words have a constrained skill and attempt to modify some aspect of their mission.

"Then the demons came out of the man and entered the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned."
The above words are from Bible, Luke 8:33.
Maybe you've got a clue.
