I mean, George Washington could have been aborted and we might have lost the Revolution. Thomas Edison could have been aborted, and we'd be living without light bulbs, telephones, and other electrical appliances. If Joan of Arc had been aborted, England would rule France now. But then again, they weren't innocent life yet now were they?!?!! The whole thing messes with nature.

To answer Jess, if Hitler had been aborted, that would have been great. But shouldn't you give the child a chance to be a Washington or a Hitler? As I said, it messes with nature.

To anwer SOphist, I'm one of the few people who keep my electric bill under 50 dollars and only fill half of the trash can every week. Oh, and we have five people in the family to. I'm totally enviromental.

I'm not extremely strict on this. If its a nine year old who got raped and is going to die as a result, then by all means, do it. But if you don't want to deal with the problems, then don't have the sex. That goes for men to.

abortion is around for those parents not ready to have kids. Yeah, you can tell to practice safe sex or not have sex at all but no teenager likes to listen to reason. Don't get me wrong, some teenagers do all the right things and still become pregnant but they had plans. Plans that didn't include offspring yet. They had dreams and asperation. They don't want to be another statitic and yet they still lay on their backs time after time thinking 'I won't get pregnant.' And what happens? Pregnancy. I've actually heard young ladies say that sex feel better without a condom. I couldn't believe it. Those your ladies are the reason why Abortion is around and such a controversal topic.
There are so many children born into this world with abusive, drug/alcohol addicted parents. Or even parents who see their child and realize that not what they want and just give it away. Sure, adoption of those unwanted children are available but now adopting agency are finding that the kid is sent to a bad home. Trust I'm all for saving lives but I feel that if a child comes into this and grows up in a bad home, they end up hating the world and possibly hurting others. There are so many reasons pro-life or anti-life but no child should grow up in this world unwanted or unloved.

Abortion is allowed because from the beginning of time, abortion has been practiced by woman who can not afford to feed the baby, the baby is a child conceived in an act or rape and so on. The bottom line is that woman resort to abortion to resolve major problems that having a baby would cause to the family or the woman.
Abortion is a chose that a woman can make, and many do make!

I think ABORTION WAS MADE LEGAL FOR A REASON. Imagine having a baby when you are still in school. And imagine what would happen to the baby without parents who really want it...
how do you think it would live? Without an identity, sometimes on the streets. Its best people without the sense of committment to the baby, need not have it at all.
I understand it messes with nature, but nature is such that it provided a trick like abortion for balancing things. Its a full circle mate.
AND CAN YOU HONESTLY SAY THAT "YOU" HAVENT MESSED WITH NATURE [in other smaller ways maybe] ....???

It is proven that most criminals come from low income back grounds and that having a child at a young age increases the odds of you living in poverty. That said there should be more effort put into preventing unwonted pregnancy so there is less demand for abortions.
Here is a little thought. If a woman is raped, gets pregnant and decides to have the baby. The father/rapist has legal right to be part of that child's life. Would you wont to have to deal with the rapist on that level.

I agree that its not cool to abort, but what if the woman got raped and then is supposed to carry out a child from this horrible situation? I mean I ve never been there but could imagine it's also not very cool....other than that I am notz pro abortion, but I think in cases like that it makes sense. I also think if people really dont want a child they can use the pill and condom and it should work.

Abortion is necessary in the world we've created. If 9 year old pregant girls who are raped by their fathers didn't exist, and everyone who had consensual sex only did so when they were emotionally and financially able to support a child in a loving environment then sure we could wipe it out. As it is now, it's too easy to get one and too easy for women to keep getting multiple abortions, but the bottom line is sometimes it's medically necessary.

You're asking us as if it's our choice to legalize abortion. It isn't our choice to legalize or not legalize. The Supreme Dictators of the United States legalized it and the only way we can overrule them is by enacting a constitutional amendment. In order to accomplish THAT, we need to have a very, very, very strong consensus in this nation that we want just such an amendment.
So you're real question is -- why doesn't everybody oppose abortion just as strongly as you do? Good luck on trying to persuade. It's futile.

It does, but their were other things just as bad as abortion before abortion was around. The Spartans would throw unwanted children into the woods to be fed to the wolves if they were not fit to be warriors.

You do not exist until you know that you exist.
BUT
A two week old fetus in the womb has a heart beat, an 11 week old fetus has a fully developed bone structure and brain.
SO--it is not up to outside onlookers, it is up to the person. They do it, they have to live with it. They don't do it, they will live better knowing they did not do the wrong thing.

If hitler had been aborted we would have lost the war. His insanity/stupidity was our best weapon.
I personally believe that most abortion should be illegal. No one considers the man in the abortion room. Why do you think most abortion clinic bombing are done by men? If I found out a doctor had aborted a child of mine, it would be the last day he was alive.
