Like, if you're female and love a woman, do you like to sing love songs by men. or feel like that toward a woman?

If you're male and love a man, do you sing love songs by women, or feel like that toward a man?

It's weird. In hetero love songs, I can feel like the singer and the one being sung about, all at once.

I'm 50/50 bi and think Trace Adkins' voice is a stone-cold turn-on, yet I relate to his "Dangerous Man", in a much higher voice. I just added it to my MySpace, and it made me think of this.

I relate to love songs by either gender. It's more the sentiment than the person singing or the pronouns used.

Sometimes, but most of the time I wonder why the heck so many artists have to put gender in a love song at all! It cuts out 50% of the audiance instantly! I love "I am that man" by Brooks and Dunn. It is often how I feel. Some songs get me going along and then pop in the gender and lose me from there on. It just reminds me that I am on the outside looking in. Songs that sing about love that are universal move me more because they don't lose me. Usually I can identify with a love song sang by a woman as long as she doesn't state the obvious, that SHE is the subject in the song. "You make me feel like a natural woman" really doesn't do much for me, However, "Gimmie a man after midnight" by ABBA does work for me ;) More artists need to understand that stating specific gender in a song limits the audience among straights too. "Cause you're my lady and I am your man" doesn't work without gender, but a LOT of songs work a lot better without it... IMO

If it is a man and he is singing about loving a woman then that is what I like. I usually listen to Bjork, even though she is straight, I don't care about that, she just makes me feel good.
Peace.

LOL....my best friend/ex-girlfriend always likes to listen to love songs by guys because she doesn't have to change the words. I also relate to love songs by guys.

relating to love songs just by gender alone is really shallow.
music should be about its sense, its meaning, its core.
not just the gender or the sexual orientation of the singer.
regardless of whether you're a bi, gay, or les, you shouldn't care about the singer's sexual orientation at all.
the music loses its soul when you do this.

I think your sexual preference does not exist in love. Whether it is a song or a poem.
