Nice Job, Dee Dee! That's exactly what I would have said and I would have meant every word of it!

When someone I love dies..I mean, someone I REALLY love...it damned well better rain at their funeral! That's how I've always felt. Everyone wants to know that their loved ones made a difference...that they were loved by many and I don't think it's a stretch to feel that the really special ones in my life may even be mourned by the angels themselves.

At the tender age of 7 I lost my best friend when he was hit by a car while we played outside. Standing beside his grave, struggling to come to grips with such a devastating loss, I remember feeling the rain on my face and thinking that even God didn't understand why this death had to happen and that those were his tears soaking us all that day. I will be 40 years old in a few weeks and I feel that way still.

Thanks for speaking up Dee Dee....I think this post has affected me more than any other....ever.....

It means nothing. It just happen to rain on that particular day. When it rains it brings a mood of hurt and sadness, at a wedding or a funeral.

If two people in the same town had funerals on the same day and lived lives that were completely different would you assume that there was any single meaning to rain falling on that day? I hope not.

Everyone is being so literal, it's almost rude. I've always heard that it means the angels are crying and that the person is going to go to heaven.

To my knowledge, there is nothing on funerals and rain in legends. In terms of movies, art or literature, it is done to emphasize the the gloomy nature of the event.

"Funeral in the Rain"
By: Chris Isaak
I've waited too long
All night I am alone
I've waited too shy
All night, I am alone and crying

I'm walking, I keep on walking down the street
I'm watching, I keep on searching every place I've been
I love her and now I've lost her, and love's in vain.
I watch her funeral in the rain

I'm walking, I keep on walking around the world,
I'm talking, I keep on talking about the girl
I love her and now I've lost her and love's in vain
I watch her funeral in the rain
I watch her funeral in the rain

All the world, knows the girl
All the world, knows she's gone
She's gone, she's gone

I'm walking, keep on walking around the world
They're watching, they keep talking, let them talk
I love her and now I've lost her and love's in vain
I watch her funeral in the rain
I watch her funeral in the rain
I watch her funeral in the rain
She's gone, she's gone, she's gone
