The music industry is a business. No one makes it unless they have something marketable. There are scads of people that play well and sing well. To break into the industry and get recognized, you need more than just talent. Asuming the talent is there, the best way is to either have something unique - something that makes you stand out. The other way is to have excellent, unique material and lots of it.

To get exposure, anyone looking to pick you up for your talent will have to invest $$. They want a sure thing, or as close as they can get to a sure thing. Promotion is both expensive and time consuming. No one wants to do that unless they see a good chance for a return on their investment.

So - work on setting yourself apart, coming up with something unique and try to develop scads of excellent material.

Good Luck!

The first answer was good. I say the same thing as the first answer. I also say work on a demo, then try to send it to a record company. Maybe try to get some studio time at a record studio and have your own coach to help you out. Sing a few songs, and have a band put together as well (unless you want to do it solo) then when you are ready go try to play the demo on a radio station, play at any gigs or clubs you can, try to get a record company to listen to it, basically advertise the demo as much as you can. That's what I should try to do too. If only I can get my guitar to where it needs to be and learn how to play it, then I could start to work on melodies and sing some songs I have written, then I could start recording and see how it goes. But that's what I would say might be one of the best ways to get into the music industry. And always have someone that can give you some feedback before you audition for something big or you're on stage. And always practice.

In order to get into the music industry, first, you should believe in yourself. Second, join auditions, there's no harm in trying. If you dont succed in the first audition, so what!! at least ,you try. Third, you need X-Factor! How can you get it? I also do not know because that involves the personality of the person. And last, you should love and enjoy your work. You should sing and play the song by heart because that's the best way to get into the music.. And when people noticed that factors, you should be happy because finally they realize you are the one. So be a star in your own simple way. Fly high and be humble! Goodluck!

Get a laptop pc and buy a good pro-sound card and external harddrive. Load in some easy-to-use recording software like Cool Edit Pro or Adobe Audition. Get a good mic and record, edit and burn your original songs to a cd and mp3 formats. Copywrite the complete cd. Post some songs online at different sites like mp3.com allowing the person to order the complete cd for money if they like the song. Get some cd's burned and labeled at any cd duplicater company. Go to the music store's and get them to put your cd's out for a set price with some profit coming back to you.
Wholllllaaaa! you could be the next big hit!
Good Luck
