Yes, all the time. However, it is an impossibility. I cannot abandon my family, friends, responsibilities. I would be very immoral to do so.
I'm not married or have any kids, but if I were considering this would not even be an option.
But I often think about "starting over", or "turning a new leaf".
Edit: I usually answer before reading other's responses; Tears fill my eyes as I read what some people have written. I honestly thought that I was the only person who felt that way..I kinda felt guilty for thinking it. It is somewhat consoling to see that others feel the same way.

Yes. I think most people feel this way at least once in their lives. I'd love to start over and not be burdened by the mistakes I've made in my life. What stops me is my family. I love them with everything in me and I could never go off and leave them. My Mom would worry herself to death and probably be sad to the end of her days and I just couldn't live with myself knowing that I had done that to her. Besides I can help others to not make the same mistakes I did, so that some good comes out of it.

Yes, many times. What stops me now is that I'm almost finished obtaining my first degree...and after that I want to move on to grad school. Though whether i go to grad school in a semi-local area or if I go on the other side of the country is something yet to be decided. ^_~
I don't have kids. Whenever I play with the idea of dropping everything and going somewhere else, I thank the gods that I don't have kids.
...I would have to bring my dog, cats, and ferret with me, though... o.O

It doesn't matter, wherever you go, there you are!
But it sure would be nice to get away from people that have preconceived notions about you. And from people that know every mistake that you ever made. That's why so many people move to big cities; autonomy.
I'm happy right where I am, I was born in the big city and I haven't strayed any further than the suburbs (less stress).

i used to feel that way all the time, and nothing did stop me. it happened that my family moved quite frequently, so it worked out nicely--however, was my urge to move out of habit or real? and was it really a good idea? i still don't know. it's tempting to take off when things get heavy. but maybe there is something to be learned by staying put. either way, that's life.
