I like work that leaves me with a feeling of satisfaction, work that I can develop a competence and confidence around... back in the '80s I tried my hand at programming mainframes... I hated it so dang much, my hair turned white, I developed an ulcer and I burned out... I was ok at it but never gained confidence... now I manage an adult training program and see the impact I have on people's lives on a daily basis... the pay stinks but that feeling of success is what makes me like what I do

I like work that upsets time and space for me. If the work can make me forget about day and night, food and water, and make me sleep-deprived for days without actually feeling the exhaustion, then this is the kind of work i like. i have to be passionate about it.

I want a job that requires traveling around the world, meeting different people and just basically having fun.(^_^) An international ambassador or an assassin would be cool for me.(^_^)
Wait. I would also love a job that helps the environment.(^_^)

Any work I do is not because I like it, it is always due to the expected reward or result, not necessarily money or material.
Wonder if it is any different for others.
