yea...that actually happened to me...i was with someone three years after meeting him online...we almost got married...so..yes..yes i do. :)

Well, people either hit it off or they don't. The same applies to folks online as well as anywhere else. It's certainly possible. I've actually made several freinds online. One gal in particular I've known for.... 9 or 10 years. Gawd, I did'nt realize it'd been that long! Just BE CAREFUL!!!!!!! There's alot of good folks online, but there's alot of sick predators! It's not always easy to tell em from the decent folks. I'm sure we've all heard the stories, but it's true. People have had lonliness exploited and been raped, kidnapped, and murdered. That said. Ya should'nt discount the importance of having a viable offline life. The computer can be a buffer making it easy to lose the ability to socialize with people in reality. Similar to the effect T.V. has of distancing what one sees from the reality behind the images.

Absolutely. My husband and I met online. These days, it's becoming more and more common - meaning that you can find a great guy online (whereas a decade ago you might have only found freaks). Just be careful - if you're going to meet up with someone, be sure it's a public place like a restaurant. Don't let him pick you up from your home until you get to know him better and can trust him.

yes it definatly happens all the time. I have dated some wonderful men I have also met some real loosers. I am seeing a very good man right now that I met on yahoo personals.
My daughter is engaged to a man that she met in five minutes on yahoo messanger. They have been together for close to three years now and have a one year old adorable boy. They make a wonderful family.

I met my wife online. Here on yahoo actually. We've been married 4 years now. So yes.
That said, I met some real weirdoes too. Use common sense.

My Hindi teacher met her husband online. She is gorgeous, intelligent and sweet (She's just a grad student and I'm a senior, so she's in my age group!), and could have had her pick of men, but she chose the internet guy for SOMETHING.
