High Pitch Scream from speakers now crashing all the time?

My computer made a high pitch scream from the speakers one night and crashed. every since then I can barely boot up.. I have to reboot 10 times before it finally boots up without freezing.. all my fans are working.. I tried a new hard drive and still get the same thing.. if I finally do get it up and running it crashes immediately when starting IE.. any suggestions on what it could be?

sounds like it is your sound card dude that is causing you problems to be sure take out all the cards that are not used to run your computer I mean a bare bone system does it work ok? ok install one card at a time till it bombs! there it is! replace it
