I am 37 weeks pregnant, the doc. said it was okay for labor now and I have a doc. appointment tomorrow but I am having problems until then. Last time I went to the doc. he said that I was soft, thinning out and my cervix was up close. But not dilated yet. I have been having contractions alot since then but nothing I needed to go the the hospital over. However today, I was having then about 30 min apart or so and I was walking through walmart and started feeling like I was a little wet. Went to the bathroom and there was some discharge. No blood or anything. But it keeps coming every now and then when I was. The walls to my vagina ache so bad and it feels like he is in between my legs, like a bowling ball or something. My contractions are now about 20 min apart but I feel like period symptoms and they are starting to feel a little harder, not much but getting harder def. Has anyone experienced this before going into labor? Is the bad soreness in my vagina normal? Thanks!

I'm 37 weeks pregnant too!
But to answer your question... I think the baby is getting into place. They say you should have contractions that are about 4 minutes apart that last for a minute before they think you are ready for hospital.... all though if your water breaks they will take you.
If it;s your mucus plug it'll be about 2 Tablespoons of snot like substance with a little blood (normal) if it is your water that has broken .... smell it .. it should smell a little "earthy"... check the colour of the discharge to something white and make sure you tell your doc if there is any colour to the discharge.
Also a good way to tell if you are having early stages of labor or if you are having braxton Hicks contractions, is if you move around or lay down and get comfy and the contractions disapear with movement... it;s braxton Hicks.. if nothing you do relieves the discomfort then it labor.
Hope my babbling helped... Good Luck!

Sounds like you are about ready to go. The discharge could be your mucus plug, but if you think that your water is leaking, then you need to go to the hospital. If it is pressure in between your legs then you need to go too, just to be safe. With my last pregnancy I was dilated 4 cm for over a week before my doctor decided to induce me, so I was sore for that period of time. Good luck!! Hopefully you won't have too long!

First answer sounds right, It sounds like your mucus plug is detaching, which could actually be early labor.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call your doctor or midwife--even at 4am!!

Until your appointment, given your description of the situation. Go home, kick your feet up and RELAX. Don't clean the house, try to get off work, there's nothing as important as delivering your healthy baby!

Soreness and aching is normal part of late stages of pregnancy. It is an indication that the baby is moving down in preparation for labor. The discharge you experienced is probably your mucous plug starting to come out.
