I don't know whether you'd call it a sense of humour, but they do have a sense of play... even if it is that it's "training" for their basic instincts. Look at how puppies play with each other, or even when you look at how older animals (the parents) play with the babies. They are learning, but I am sure that they get enjoyment out of it too...

Some animals do have a sense of humor. Apes play tricks upon one another. Dolphins play jokes on one another. Dogs and cats can really enjoy something funny happening to another. I have not observed anything similar with other animals. I would not attribute humor to snakes and such.

I think my cat must have a sense of humor. If I don't wake up and play with him somewhere between 5 and 6 a.m., he pulls my covers off.

I think so. The other day my daughter was in the driveway cuddling with our 2 cats. There was a squirrel in a nearby tree making a racket. My daughter said to the cats,"that squirrel sure is annoying, isn't it"? Shortly after wards one of the cats went into the tree and killed that squirrel and packed it to her.

When a dog is in a playful mood and is panting but not hot, that is a dog laughing. My dog laughs at me all the time when were playing. He's a very happy puppy.

I really hope so, cause that would explain why Rascal always drools in my good dress shoes...and poops on our walk in an obvious place when I forget the doodoo bag... and used to pee on the legs of unwelcome visitors

Yes they do. My dog smiles all the time, and she thinks it's really funny when she pulls the covers off me on a cold morning.

I think it is more a sense of playing and enjoyment than an actual "sense of humor". I know my pups smile at me! :-)

nope. neither do they possess the necessary tools to show that they deserve rights. they can't think for themselves(as in seeing the bigger picture). they can't build things that will not give them immediate benefits.....
just a couple examples.
animals don't have rights. get over it.
but some animals can be pretty funny sometimes.
