Unemployment never starts if you quit your job.


That's called Welfare.

In most states you don't get unemployement when you quit a job, you get it when you are terminated without fault. They have to do this because some clever people would work for a while and then quit, work and quit and just live off other people.

Depend on why you quit your job, they contact your Employer and notify them that you applied for unemployment. The Employer has a certain amount of days to respond, if you left for no good reason, you will be denied , but you can appeal this. The final decision could result in your receiving or being denied benefits.

well it depends on the reason for quitting if it is a good reason it can take 8 to 12 weeks
