What's the best way to hang an 80 lb punching bag?

It will go in my basement. I have wooden beams. Should I drill and hang a hook on the bottom of the beam? Should I hang it to a joist?

I have too many electrical cable running along the beam, so I can't wrap a chain around the beam for fear that it might cause too much friction on the cables.

Hanging it from a joist or beam is fine, you'll need at least a couple of 3 inch woodscrews though.

i tied a thick chain around my basement beam and hung it from that. do not drill a hole. just tie the thing around real good.
