The Maldives is a great place for a Honeymoon. In fact you should go see it while all is well. Each year the water level is rising and it is expected that eventually (probably not for at least 30 years) this paradise will be underwater.
Maldives are compromised of several atolls. You will take a seaplane to your resort from the airport if you are not staying in "Male - The Capital".
I'm not sure the exact amount of accommodations there is to choose from, but I do know there are at least 88. Most of these to are quite upscale. The waters are so many shades of blue in the pristine oceans along the white sand beaches with palm trees scattered about.
