Why do men behave differently with ladies who want to be friendly with them? This particular married guy I know (I am not in love with him but would just like to be a friend) acts very different like bruising me with words, ignoring me, comparing me to his wife etc. I feel very upset because he does not behave like others in this way. If I am in a particular group, he will speak to each and every one except me, flaunt his material buying power in my presence to others, talking about his status/position in job. Sometimes he blushes if he sees me. If I call him casually he will nver return the call (& also cut the conversation short). This hurts me because nobody none of my other friends behave like this. I am a gentle, peace loving lady and such behaviour of his makes me feel bad. Let me tell you that I am not in love with him but how do I make him to respect me and treat me like any other normal friend? His behaviour does not make me feel lady-like. Why does he compare me to his wife.

I dont understand why you are fascinated with a married man? he obviously doesnt really like you--as a friend...leave him alone.

He is torn with indecision. I'm guessing he finds you very sexy (hence the trying to impress you with his accomplishments/wealth) and at the same time his feelings towards you scare the living daylights out of him (hence the being rude/not talking etc.)
There is nothing you can do about this. You can only control your thoughts. He is going to think/act the way he must, and you have no control or input in the way he acts or thinks.

I just hope you don't work for him. My advice is to treat him with respect and be VERY professional. DO NOT try to be friends or be friendly!!!!! BE cordial towards him. Nothing social no conversation that is not business.

Everyone (including him) can tell that you feel more towards him than just friendship. He can tell that you are a bit insecure and he does not feel the same way about you so he is just hurting your feelings for a bit of fun knowing that you will still be hangning onto his everyword. My suggestion is to stop talking to him, you do not need a friend like this. He compares you to his wife because she is probably better than you and he wants you to get the point that your feelings are fruitless. (sorry to be harsh)

Just leave him alone. Maybe he likes you or maybe he does not like you. Go with the other group and ignore this man. He's not worth your attention. Better go have fun with the ladies.

Does he treat other female friends like this?

I'd say get away from him as fast as you can, unless his ego turns you on (which is perfectly normal, although the fact that it is normal bothers me deeply)

It sounds like he is threatened by you for some reason. Without more info could not tell you what it is exactly.

he probably has some sort of attraction to you, and that his only way of flirting with you, though obviously it doesnt work very well. he might be trying to make you jealous, or he just might be an ***.

He's an egotistical jerk. It happens. Try to stay away from him.
