It usually means that you have the potential of becoming a manager someday, but you will start learning from the ground up.

For example, a management trainee at a fast food restaurant is someone who is learning to become a manager. The trainee will follow the manager around to learn about how to manage people, how many workers to staff at a given time, how to use the computer system to help decide when and how much hamburgers and buns to order etc. At the same time, if your staffs don't show up for work you will have to step into the role of cashier, cleaner, sever etc.

Best wishes.

Could be good or they might call you management just so they can work the crap out of you without giving you over time! Happens all over the place. Be careful, know your company and see how it is for current managers and trainees!

It is an entry level position and is usually a probationary period. They want to see if you'll work out.
