You only need 4 players for bridge .. plus you indicated that it was a club .. a private women's social club or focus group?

No. It's a private club and they have the right to refuse admittance for any reason they wish.

Is refusing someone admittance based on gender, race, sexual orientation or preference morally correct? That's a different issue and not the question you asked.
